Missing Scenery Items - Need for concern?

Unread postby Crestone » Sun Jan 26, 2020 2:54 pm

I seem to have a lot of scenery items missing (50+). Most are from the Scenery-GX and Scenery-GN folders under Assets\G-Trax. These folders were part of the Stevens Pass route. Certainly, some of this is due to the backdating process, such as cell towers removed etc. Others, such as suburbs and grain buildings has me concerned.

I checked, and these items are not in the original download, so a re-install seems not to be a solution. However, I could just sub the Stevens Pass items and recover most of the missing bin files, I just do not want to undo the "backdating" process just to ease my organizational neurosis!

Happy to post a RW Tools report if that will help.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the heads-up. I think that these missing items are of no concern -- there are several "known milk bottles" on this route, including some that might sound alarming when looking at the asset names. The backdating process was far from easy and some things just went unnoticed.

The important thing is whether everything *looks* fine and complete when playing the route. Please do let us know if that is not the case.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael.

Thanks for the response. I rather thought they were somewhat non-concerning, but just wanted to verify. I have run the route a few time now and noticed nothing out of the ordinary....just a lot of beautiful scenery! FYI, this all came about as I have embarked on a rather ambitious exercise of cataloging all my rolling stock and cleaning up all my routes/scenarios missing items. That said, no reason to chase stuff that doesn't matter. Thanks again!
