What rolling stock is now standard?

Unread postby OldProf » Tue Jan 29, 2013 4:47 pm

I'm asking this question because I like to use a variety of rolling stock in my scenarios. Answering this question used to be simple, since one of the pre-TS2013 user manuals included a list of standard (meaning that it came with the sim) rolling stock, categorized by country (American, British., and German). Those basic manuals have been rewritten and that rolling stock list has disappeared, I'm sorry to say.

My current need for such a list is that I'm working (yes, still ... but almost finished) on a shunting scenario for the Munich-Augsburg route. The route itself comes with a limited amount of rolling stock. I'd like to use additional items, but I don't want to "require" the purchase of additional DLC. RW_Tools will give me a list of the rolling stock on my computer, but my installation goes back to the first version of RailSimulator. So, I'm hoping for suggestions about identifying "standard stock" for TS2013.

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

I've just been asking myself the same question, and I think the answer is now since TS2013: There is no standard rolling stock, at least not in terms of "out of the box".

The closest we get to a list of "standard equipment" is the stuff that ships with TS2013, but to my knowledge not all RW2-TS12 users that upgraded have that since the main update only included the core changes, the new routes had to be purchased seperately.

Train Sim 2013 ships with the following routes and their associated rolling stock (all rail vehicles located in the corresponding route's assets folders)
- Sherman Hill
- London Brighton
- Munich Augsburg

So, if I understand that correctly, TS13 does basically not even include any of the UK locos.

All the old Kuju and KujuUS equipment is now part of the US and European "Community Assets" Packs, and also several of the older routes DLC.
