making an engine player driveable

Unread postby gwgardner » Wed Jan 18, 2012 1:55 pm

I know I have done it in the past, but for some reason I am now unable to make the Challenger a driveable engine. Perhaps I'm in a brain freeze, but I can't think of anything I've done wrong. I placed a consist with the Challenger. I placed the driveable train icon on the engine, but the checkbox to make it a player train is grayed out. Any clues?

Humm... the first weird thing I'm seeing is the driver icon in the middle of loco (I ever saw it in the front). The only thing that comes to my mind is: before add the driver icon be sure the engine is not checked as "broken" (click twice the engine to open its flyout).

Edited later: forget my suggestion because if the loco is broken you cannot add a driver, and if the driver is already added you cannot break the loco. !**duh*!! *!embar*!

In fact the checkable box icon (Player Consist is its name) is used to assign a "Player Train" in standart scenarios. If you are in a freeroam scenario that icon is always grayed 'cuz any train with driver icon is drivable. !!*ok*!!

But if you are in a standart scenario, then !*don-know!* !!**sorry**!!

There you go. I told you I might have a brain freeze. Could have sworn it was created as standard, but it was freeroam. Thanks for the advice.

!*roll-laugh*! That's what I wondered... happened to me once, but in the other way: I thought I was in a freeroam... **!!bang!!** Welcome to the !DUH!'s Club. It's nice to know I'm not alone... !*salute*!
