Does anyone know if the NH FL9's operated from New Haven to Springfield? Also, who handles freight operations on the line today?

CSX is the freight handler today and the FL9 was designed to run from Grand Central to Boston. 3rd rail to New Haven. Diesel Electric to Boston.

- During the New Haven era, FL9s regularly handled passenger trains on the Hartford Line between New Haven and Springfield (and also worked on the Danbury - Pittsfield, MA route).

- CSX operates the old Cedar Hill Yard at New Haven, but Connecticut Southern (owned by G&W) is the primary freight operator between New Haven and Springfield.
