more noob questions...

I *THINK* I have the route creation, ReDem, and RWDecal issues in hand. Have started laying track and putting down a bit of scenery here and there on my route.

Since my route runs along the seashore for quite a ways, is there any ocean water, beach sand scenery out there?

Is there any way to lock the decals in place when you are laying track/roads? I seem to end up selecting the decal and moving it, rather than the track/road too often...

Also, what is the easiest way to figure out what piece of scenery was used in a route? For instance, I am running a freeware route, and I see a building/tree/whatever, that would be just perfect in my route, how do I figure out what the name of it is?

I think you'll have to rely on the default water and sandtextures, but in my opinion they are sufficient.

No, there is no way to lock the decals. I know decal problems too good myself.
I especially have problems if I want to connect two pieces of track while a decal is underneath.

I don't really know, but if you go into the world editor and select the asset with a double-click a flyout should appear on the right side. There might be the name of the asset.

Project Platform/Phorum Peninsula from Railworks has an animated wave that looks quite realistic. There are several sand brushes for the paint tool as well. Tip: once you have a water tile placed and at the right altitude, click once on it to highlight it, then press CTRL-C to copy it, then CTRL-V to paste it. It will remain at the same height, and you can place many tiles just by pressing CTRL-V each time.

Thanks Mike, I'll take a look at the Phorum route. I also like the water color on the Bay of Quinte route, so I'll be taking a look at it also...

I also need to DL your latest revision to the MHRR. It's a slick route too!
