setting arriving/departure time

Discussion about RailWorks scenario creation.

setting arriving/departure time

Unread postby SolidSteel » Fri Feb 25, 2011 8:50 am

Hi all,
In my scenario i want a train to arrive at a siding no later than 9:50 and leave not before 9:53. So in the scheduler i enter arrival 09:50 and departure: 09:53.
AI starts calculating and i get exclamation marks(!!!!!) for the whole route. When i enter no values, i get a correct time schedule. Where do i go wrong?

Regards, Solid Steel

Are you doing a "Timetabled Scenario"?
Another reason might be that the train can't arrive at the station on that time for example because the line spped is low.
So you'll have to pick a lter arriving time.

the train can arrive at 9:40 when keeping speed ristrictions, so there is 10 min. room.

I get the error when i enter the departure time

You have to change the sitting time from the default 35 seconds, otherwise it automatically changes times, you can't edit the departure time manually ,

When you get the arrival time sorted out figure out what time you want it to leave again

e.g arr 9:50:02 and you want it to leave at exactly 9:53 you would need to change the time for the instruction from 00:00:35 to 00:02:58 and remember Railworks uses 24hour timing
My scenarios are short, but they leave plenty of room for scope. Time to stretch to other routes I think

Thanks for help and answers. Still i need some more help. The situation: a single track railroad, a station with 2 platforms, 2 trains (a AI train and the driver train) that have to pass at the station. i want my player train to arrive at the station before the AI train on platform 2. The AI train arrives at platform 1. Both train leave the station in opposite direction. Can this be done?

it can be done , depending on how you run your service will decide the outcome of it, I have seen it being done on a few routes , the AI arrive depart time is affected with your running time, if you approach the station that branches into 2 tracks and are early you obviously have to wait for the AI to enter and clear the signal block ahead of you, it works for ai aswell, that has to wait for you if you are running late
