Rolling Stock Filter

Unread postby Scott_AUS » Sat Mar 14, 2009 8:25 pm

Exploring creating scenarios and converting my mind from MSTS Activity Editor thinking to RS Creation thinking. Couple of questions spring to mind...

- is there a way to filter your rolling stock out as yet? (suppose I'm thinking along the lines of train-store for MSTS - where I could tag rolling stock and remove it so I didn't accidentally use payware in a freeware scenario)

- if I build a scenario on say Rich's route - I know I have the freeware version of the foliage from 3d trains. Does this then cause an issue for someone on the payware version or is it all sorted out by RS? (again thinking MSTS like with route build index issues on loading)

else, have to say, I'm enjoying my time exploring scenario creation...once you get the basic workflow understood, it's going OK so far and not frustrating the heck out of me.

!*cheers*!

hi Scott,

1) I don't think there's a way to filter out the rollingstock.

2) If you don't plant any new scenery in scenario edit mode then when you package the scenario you won't pick up anything but the scenario.

Hope this helps!

Certainly does Rich. Exported an activity and ran it on a second machine here and all went well. It's getting there. The old addage, forget MSTS thinking and work this through, I like the work flow on RS for creating activities so far, just have to make a couple of bad ones to work out where I'm not doing things right. !!*ok*!!
