They are used in scenarios that RSC distributed with the HSC route.
I suggest you open them in the scenario editor in timetable view and see how those messages were done.
One scenario at least also had camera animations with the messages.

I did just what you suggested, Chacal, when HSC first came out. The editor shows a seemingly standard message box (can't think of that dingus's official name just now) with nothing in it, so something that us ordinary mortals cannot access yet is hiding behind the curtain. Similar messages can also be found in RSC scenarios for other routes, such as the Northeast Corridor--although the scenarios I've seen them in might have come with a different package. They look great and I'd really like to know how to make them. Either here or on another forum, someone (I'm really having the vagues today!) opined that a LUA script might be in use. I tried to LUA once, but looked ridiculous in that grass skirt.

They are in a LUA file, I saw once... However I was not trying to learn how to do that, but how to delete that kiddy feature instead, and let the screens come as usual. The free camera "movie" is intersting, but the picture enlarging unduly the screen is terrible; even worse, to read most of messages you have to click and roll with mouse, Jeez! sincerily... who invented that for sure don't play scenarios often.

There is a lua script in the scenario folder, and a checksum for it. There is either a hidden tool or a hidden procedure RSC use, or we just don't have all the tools provided to make those. I mean you *can* get somewhere by generating your own checksums, Bill did a bit of work on it, but otherwise it's not something RSC appear to be keen to let us do ourselves.
