AI issue with ACS-64 on Original NEC

Unread postby PHLapproach » Thu Jan 28, 2016 11:10 pm

I'm just trying to finish up my first scenario. A busy scenario of an NJT run on the original NEC route. However, I've noticed the few AI consists I placed with ACS-64 leading have the blue arc effect that I assume is built into the engine for the NH-NY route however the arc are continuous now. Even when you place them in the editor as soon as it drops on the track you can see a blue glow all around the engine and during tests sure enough you can spot an ACS approaching a mile away with this blue glow. Ideas? I can't seem to find anything online about it. Surely, someone has discovered this issue with using them as AI on the NEC before me...??

A picture would sure help but it sounds like you are missing the shadow texture on that particular item.

I thought about posting a photo. It's just a crappy phone photo. I'll get a photo in game and post it tonight.

Ed, it isn't a problem. This is how DTG have built the new current crop of Electric locomotives for the game, you get the same blue arc glow surrounding the British Class 86/87 locos and the German BR 189, from memory. It's strangely offputting, but, it's all part of the game now.

ex-railwayman, I know it is a new effect but in say the NY-NH route the arc only flashes periodically like RW. This arc is staying on forever on the original NEC route. My question is why is the effect staying on on this route but not another. I'm trying to figure out what they could have done to cause just a blue arc effect to not operate correctly on one route but not another.

I wanted to get back and just say that I think buzz was on point that it was a shadow or shader file. I verified the cache and that fixed the continuous arc issue. Odd that it happened because I had just done a reinstall of TS before I started work on this scenario. I guess the install skipped the file somehow.
