Was the cab car leading or was the locomotive in the lead re: the scenario driver symbol?

I've never created forwards-in-back-out scenarios before. Does the driver symbol switch ends or is the train just reversing w/o any change of the driver's position?

Loco leading southbound on the way in with the driver's head on it. Following through with your logic I flipped the train round so it arrives at the station cab car leading with the driver head still on the loco, now at the rear of the train. Incredibly it still stopped in the correct place, which I wasn't expecting! It seems as thought we've inadvertently stumbled across some intelligence with the dispatcher. !*YAAA*!

I've attached the scenario file to this post if that's of any use to anyone.

[Just seen the addition to your post. The driver head will always stay where you place it to begin with.]

Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

Thanks, Bob.

So the stopping instruction takes both the position of the driver symbol and the calculated length of the train into account it seems.

I'll load your test scenario to see where exactly the driver symbol ends up when the train approaches the stopping point. Given the above, no part of it should advance beyond the stopping point.

Not a problem. It would seem that's how it's working. Looking forward to learn about anything else you discover! :D

hertsbob wrote:Guessing at No.2 first, mainly because I don't fully understand what you're after. But can't you just stick a driver's head on the loco in question without any instructions to get it to just sit there with the headlight on? (This may screw up the pathing for the trains you want to move so may not be useful for you)

That's exactly what i thought it would do. I simply placed a driver head on the static consist at the station that I want to sit there with headlights on. So clearly that is not the desired method after reading your post. To clarify, is there a way to have a train with no path or instructions to sit at a platform with lights on for the duration of the scenario or at least the first 15 or so minutes? If it really is something so hard to achieve I guess I can give it a task to go one mile up the track or something 5 minutes after the player train departs and can no longer see the origin station.
