Coupler streching

Having an issue with the SD70ace, ES44AC, ES44DC.
The coupler will stretch completely out from the locomotive under acceleration. This happens in career and quickdrive in Cajon pass and Stevens pass. I can get it to happen in quickdrive in any location it seems.

I've been on the older forums researching this and from what I can tell I need the Britkit coupler???? However, this coupler seems to be the stock file for the SD70ace, so I'm not too sure if I'm going the right direction with this.

Not sure if it's hardware related...
I'm running TS 2019
Win 10, GTX1070 with the latest drivers.
32 gig RAM
I7 6700hq, yes it's a laptop.
3.2ghz

Any advice is appreciated

Its not your hardware. Its the way the couplers were set up on most DTG/RSC rolling stock.

Is there a fix, or is this what it is?

It is a great pity that DTG hasn't fixed this issue that has been plaguing DLC for years now.

You can fix it yourself by editing the coupler's .bin files using RW_Tools.

Take a good look at the files included in this fix: http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... ccessories
The file concerned is buckeye_type_e_coupling.bin
The key values are <SpringCoefficient> and <Damping>, I have both these at 0.000000 (zero) in my game to make the couplers stiff.

Or switch over to the Brit Kit couplers.

So for fun, I took the coupler from this link, http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... ccessories
and I wrote over the file for the SD70ace. The stretching was gone, but no coupler image… Just an air gap.

This is obviously not as simple as overwriting the old file with the new. What steps did I miss?
File Path
D:\Apps\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01\RailVehicles\Couplings\Buckeye\Type-E

There are several other files in this folder that I left untouched, they are .GeoPcDx. And a texture folder with the buckeye.TgPcDx. I left this untouched

Second, I found the RW_Tools zip file.
Is this fairly simple to use to change the coupler values? My concern is opening up these bin files and doing some damage because I'm new to this type of editing.

What I would do is just change the draft and spring rates in the original bin to match the improved version.
Though this generally gives you no slack whatsoever.

I spent a lot of time setting the ones in the SS/JR cars to be prototypical with around 3" of slack between knuckles at each coupling with another car so you can "feel" the train. The cars with protoypically cushioned drawbars have about 2.5' of travel in addition to the slack.
