Discussion of TS 2019

At this point I'm ready to recommend to reinstall the game.
Maybe first I would go to the Steam Workshop and unsubscribe from any Workshop route and scenario.

If I was sitting at your computer I could maybe find the problem by trying various things, but I'm not.

Yes. Answer the questions that are asked. Chacal says the log you sent him says the game resides on the C: drive yet you say it's on the D: drive. You probably have something still on the C drive. Now you tell us that you have it on a whole different computer. If you could explain what you have where you have it and for sure that it is no longer where you had it before so Steam is not confused when trying to start the game maybe just maybe we could understand what your problem is and how to fix it.

This is all on the same computer, and the log I sent him was before I realized the script was trying to look in the wrong place. I can see where the confusion about two different machines comes in, but the laptop I am on currently doesn't have enough room on the C drive for TS, so I have had it installed to the D drive. The only other computer I own is a 2002 Dell Dimension 2300 that is not currently set up, but I am saving to build a better PC.

My problems started when I was getting sick of accidentally tabbing out of the game and getting a dump file, so I tried to run the game in windowed mode. When I attempted to restart the game, nothing happened. Steam said the game was running, and the TS icon was on my hotbar, but nothing would happen. All I would see is was my background. I wasn't able to reset the game to full screen due to not being able to get into the game, so I uninstalled the game, completely.

This has all happened after I tried to reinstall. The game now runs in full screen, but it gets hung up where exactly where I said it hangs up. I have no other TS folders on my computer, and I'd screenshot it to show you if I knew where it puts the resulting images. I have been completely truthful about the issues I have been having this entire time.

OK we can try a few things.
First unsubscribe from Workshop routes and scenarios.
Does anyone have easy instructions on how to do this? Otherwise I'll write some when I get home.

I never meant to say you were being untruthful just confusing. Have you run the logmate with this computer to see what it says?

As far as uninstalling the workshop stuff since you can't get the game started I have no idea how to get rid of that stuff. Hopefully Chacal can explain it so we all learn something.

Go to the workshop and unsubscribe from everything you have subscribed to and that that should do the trick. In the right hand side menu there should be an option to click on for your subscriptions so that you don't have to hunt them all down.

He can't get to the workshop. His problem is he can't get by the screen that says loading scenarios. It just sits there.

You can access the workshop through the Steam desktop program, or web browser, without going through Train Simulator.

Yeah, that is what I am going to do. First I'm making a list of all the workshop stuff I'm subscribed to.

Actually a list is a good idea when you start adding them back one by one

I'm also thinking of adding them to a collection (if I can figure out how) so I don't have to go hunting around for them.

That's a good start. And the list is an excellent idea.

I know this is an old post, but I'm new to all of this. Meanwhile I know what is causing virtually all of these workshop problems, and now torecover and maybe avoid them. See

Alright, I've finally got TS working. Turns out the missing caches reqacquire themselves if you leave the game running long enough.
