Train simulator doesn't know that articulated pieces of railroad equipment should be connected automatically. Treating each unit individually allows it to behave in corners normally.
What you do with articulated units, and you'll see this occur in other DLC as well such as the bigboy, challenger, cab forward, and centipede for example, you need to place each part of the articulated set in order in the editor.
So your problem isn't really a problem, the game is just designed that way and it can be confusing at times.
