Today's riddle: When is a scenario not a scenario?

As we all know, at present making our own scenarios is not possible in TSW -- or is it?

Open Steam, click on Train Sim World if it is not already selected, then click on Community Guides to the right-hand side of the Steam window. There, you will find "QR71 -- a marshalling scenario. 1hr." and "Q234 -- a marshalling scenario.21hrs.", both by Harmer, both with screen shots of the 2D map showing areas of Cumberland Yard and a set of instructions to follow.

Please note that these are not the sort of scenarios we are used to in either TS or TSW. To run them, you "spawn in" to a specified location in Cumberland Yard at a specified time and follow the included instructions. To make the latter easier, I used the Snipping Tool to capture the screen shot of the yard, enhanced the image, pasted it into the program I use to create PDF files and resized it to 8" wide, retyped the text of the instructions in an easily readable font size, saved the PDF, and finally printed a copy of the result.

Before I could run the "scenario", I had to know how to "spawn in", yet another thing not currently included in the TSW Manual. Harmer kindly provided these instructions:
1. Select your player profile.
2. Select 'Services'
3. Select your character, rather than a locomotive.
4. Choose your environment settings.
5. Select the time of day and location (as advised by the scenario).
6. Select 'Start'. You will be 'spawned in' on foot at that location and time.

Figuring out #5 took me a while, but once I understood the process it became easy.

So far, I have successfully completed Q234, for which you'll need to know how to use the turntable, how to start an EMD GP38-2 or EMD SD40-2, and how to set up these engines for multiple unit working -- mirablie dictu, full instructions for the first two procedures are included in the TSW Manual. For the turntable, there's a Tutorial.

This isn't scenario running as we know it, but high marks to Harmer for figuring out how to do this!!! !*brav*! !*salute*!
