For any of you Scale Rail users: what would be the best kind of track/crossing pad for a minor crossing in a yard?

You could use wooden crossing pads from either the Fort Kent to Eagle Lake Add-on, Colton & Northern Expansion Pack, or the Rascal & Cottonwood Expansion Pack.

Bad idea. That just makes people buy more payware when it's not necessary.

Is it not practical just to raise the road, so that the tops of the rails are visible only? It doesn't exactly look like the world's most important thoroughfare.

From what I've seen in the wild, there should be just a few rough lumber pieces between the rails and gravel outside.
The rails can be a couple of inches over the road, no Porsche is going to go over that crossing.
