Route Maps

It seems to me that at one time I saw some detailed maps of the TS2012 routes somewhere. Now I can't seem to locate them. I would like to have maps of the routes currently in TS2013 if they are available so I can start learning how to create scenarios.

Does anyone know if they are available and where one might find them?

Thanks.

I know that Marleyman does route maps (schematics): http://www.railworks.marleyman.co.uk/ which are excellent and if it is a "known" route then Wikipedia will give a schematic diagream with all junctions and many of the defunct lines and stations: Like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Coast_Main_Line and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_Corridor_Line.

When I first started writing scenarios for RailSim (ancient days, kiddies), I, too, thought I would need route maps and began devising methods of producing same, most of which involved converting screenshots of 2D map screens into printable track diagrams. After wasting far too much time on such projects, I realized that the 2D map screens already fulfilled my needs within the program itself, with no need to waste paper, ink, or my time. Once the editor is open, all the maps needed by a scenario writer are at hand in both 2D and 3D views. Try it and I think that you'll see what I mean.

Enjoy!

Gents,
There is a person who is part of the group list who makes great route maps. I used his maps of the Montour route to build my scenarios.
Old Prof, I agree the in game maps help as well but when I come up with a Idea for a scenario I am normally away from the computer. I use a legal note pad and start my plans from there.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I tried marleyman's site, but it is down at this time. I'm like glenn68. I would like to use the maps to plan a scenario before getting into the editor. As this is all new to me, I find it easy to get confused by all the symbols and the sequence that you have to go through to make a scenario. It is just a matter of doing it several times to learn it but the maps would be a help to me in pre-planning.

If I understand correctly, you have to start building the scenario and go into the timetable screen to see the map. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Rebuilding as we speak... Turns out my quick update to the core of the site really needed to be a full rebuild. So 4 hours work will now be 2 weeks! Testing all the uploads again before I add them to the new design and having to re-write every word on the site. Just as well it is almost winter and I have nowhere else to be. !!*ok*!!
