Anyone currently working on a route based in NW Ohio? I want to try my hand at a route there and I want to know if a more skilled route builder is doing it? There are a lot of busy routes to choose from here and one problem, no CPLs. That makes the Toledo Sub, Garrett Sub, and Willard Subs non prototypical. NS on the other hand has the NKP but still CPL's are needed for a junction with the CSX at Leipsic. Which leads me to another question, is anyone planning on making CPL's?

What's a CPL?

Color position light, common on the B&O I believe.

This is the CPL farm where the Toledo Sub crosses where the Garrett Sub stops and the Willard Sub begins, this is a SB look. Probably clear for K185 jus guessin. I absolutly love this spot to railfan.

I don't believe I've read of anyone building a route. I'd say go for it, it's yours for the taking.

Hey there. Glad to see more prospecting route builders. There might be someone on these boards that will help create CPL's for ya. If you
decide to start route building, remember to get your hands on real world terrain data, it will make your route shine. I released a step by step tutorial on how to do that, ( setting up the route, how to download from USGS ) Its in the file library here at railworks america.

Im currently building the Conrail / NS lines from Blue Island Il to Elkhart In ( pics in the WIP area ). A dream for the future if time permits would be to extend the route to Toledo.

You are absolutely right NDORFN, why did i not think of that.... Man, i need to slow down on the route building, im forgetting there is something like running trains as well... oh well, back to route building...

NEC has CPLs, HSC just has PLs.

Perhaps you should ask someone like SMM Digital to make you signals. That way you can go freeware all the way through. He makes a lot of signals anyways so I would think that he might give these signals a try.

I should ask bexuase he makes high quality signals too but i might need to use the PRR PLs for the crossing of the CF&E at lima but not sure if they've replaced them with newer hooded signals yet, they did that at Dunkirk so I'm mot sure

Well SMM is busy so ill probably try to do the NS Fostoria District since I lived along it for the first 6 years of my life, his newer USS signals should work for this route, but themasts will have to be cantilevers but none the less still a cool route to drive!
