Quiet Zone “X” signal

Unread postby xxuntitledxx » Tue Dec 23, 2025 12:19 am

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there are any routes containing the little flashing red “X” signal seen facing tracks at some quiet zone crossings? I thought I saw one in a route but can’t seem to find it. I know it doesn’t operate but would like to add it as an extra bit of detail.

I think that I saw some in the Peninsula/Racetrack or Miami West palm Beach.

Miami West Palm Beach definitely has them.

This is what I'm talking about...

It's a crew activation indicator. Turns on and flashes a red "X" when the signal activates to indicate the crossing is protected and the crew can go through without using the horn.

I personally have not seen this device in any route.
