Issue converting .BIL files to .HGT

I'm trying to follow Searchlight Simulations' tutorial for converting .bil files to .hgt files that BoostedFridge linked to in his tutorial https://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23901&p=270204&hilit=tif+hgt#p270204, but when I hit Start it doesn't find the .bil data that's in the same folder so it doesn't generate an .hgt file. Am I missing something?

I have the same .bil files as shown in the SS tutorial

This BILxSRTM.exe uses the last folder it has used, not the current.
Just navigate the first time to the "current" folder, next time you won't have any problems.
I convert bil files always in the same folder as of this.

I have BILxSRTM in the same folder as the BIL data I'm trying to convert, this doesn't seem to change anything. I restarted my computer, went straight to the folder with the BIL data and BILxSRTM, tried running BILxSRTM and got the same result.

Can you show how you did it?

Just use "Browse" :

.. and choose your folders.

Yes, I have that part, the problem is nothing happens when I hit Start.

OK, I've got now the same as long as the only files are *.BIL files in the source directory.
When I add *.BLW and *.HDR files, too , then everything works.

I think I have got these *.BLW and *.HDR from converting a geotiff with microdem.
This is very useful when you have to rise or lower your terrain to adjust it to an existing route (thanks to minerman146 for the tip some years ago).
