Easiest way to add mountains to an existing route? (Adriana County)

Unread postby pkz19 » Mon Jan 14, 2019 7:44 pm

So I love the track and town layout of Handbrake's Adriana County, but I want to make a copy that feels more like the eastern Ohio/western PA Appalachian environment that I live in. I want to put hills/mountains around it to accomplish this, and am wondering if anyone has any tips on the easiest way to go about it? I have tried using the elevation and smooth tools, but it will take forever. I looked at importing SRTM data, but it seems like I'd have to change the base lat/long of the route and I don't know if that's possible. Is there a way to just drop SRTM data where you want it in an existing route without dealing with real-world lat/long?

You're just looking for some 'backdrop' terrain/mountains to surround the working area of the route, yes?
