I'm preparing to build a route after TS2019 is released, but the GE overlay isn't working properly. It doesn't load all of the image tiles, only a few. I am aware of the API changes Google made, but I really want to avoid having to create an account with Google. Is there anything I can do to make the overlay work again?

The topic regarding signing up for Google for the GE overlay has been well covered in the past few months. I would suggest searching and reading it.

Further to that, if you are getting ANY tiles to load the google earth overlay, then its not an issue with your API not having a pay account. It either works, or just gives you nothing but the blue rotating circles. Lots of times I have turned on the overlay and had tiles that just refuse to load, even if the same tiles worked the night previous. I feel this is an issue on the Google end.

Try 'flying' to an entirely different area and pressing control-G to turn on the overlay. If you get GE imagery, then that confirms its not a problem with your account or API.
