Overhead Wiring

I'm at a point on the route I'm building that overhead wiring has come into play. Would it be better to do the overhead as I lay the track, or can I come back at a later date and do the wiring? Reason I ask is I'm doing this route for a friend and he would prefer I continue to lay track then do the wiring.

Also, I have to consider that by car, the distance is around 288 miles. I don't know what it is by rail. I have not used Google Earth to get a estimate yet. At any rate, that's a long distance to go back and work on again.

A route builder can lay overhead wires anytime he wishes.
Remember in case you use OHLE tool, which is basically a dynamic catenary system, make sure that in track rule electrification is checked otherwise no Electric Locomotive would run even if you see OHLE wires.

Also, it is best to run the wires after you have the track working properly, as you will eventually run into the special situations, like crossovers and such, that need special handling of the wires and support structures. And, there are times when you may need to make adjustments after laying the track, and this would lead to extreme time consumption in regards to the wires, Redoing all those wires again. It also has to do with who's OHLE tool you use, many are different in infrastructure than others. Just my take on it
