Metrolink 91/ Perris Valley Line

Unread postby benny335 » Fri Apr 13, 2018 7:03 pm

Hi everyone. So I thought I might try my hand at recreating the section of Metrolink's 91/PV line between Perris South and Riverside Downtown. Does anyone know what might be the best approach to building this without track data resources? Metrolink does not release any kind of information like that to the public.

A lot of folks use google earth to see how the track is routed and the buildings. There is great tutorials on route building that explain how to import the terrain.

Best of luck on your endeavor! Here is a good tutorial on how to import terrain data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VUnFFDPu8Y

A really cool bonus would be the adjacent Orange Empire Railway Museum. While it's true that the tracks are not currently connected, they will be in the future (hopefully) and trolley wire will run above the Metrolink main all the way to the Perris depot, where OERM's stub platform is located. Wouldn't be too unrealistic to model that should you choose to include the museum in your route. The E8 repaint on the RWA website would finally have a place to run, as OERM owns an ex-RTA nee UP E8M, #942. A standalone repaint of this road number exists.
PC Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @4.225 GHz, AsRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @3200 MHz, and an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Edition
