Missing 3D Sleepers

Unread postby sumitsingh » Fri Feb 16, 2018 1:43 pm

Hi,
I am in the process of making 1676 mm Broad Gauge Track System for my upcoming route.
Everything worked fine, until I figured out that at RED TRIANGLES when we lay tracks, there is always a sleeper missing.
The sleepers are middle geometry.
What can be wrong possibly? *!rolleyes!*

A triangle is where a length of track ends, and since the sleepers are added at increment lengths, they're likely to get cut off or double up. You can try and join the two sections using the Shift + Join function or perhaps slide a separate sleeper object underneath, but otherwise it's a limitation of TS you'll have to live with.
Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. *!!thnx!!*
I have an idea of using a static sleeper, which can be align easily by pressing TAB.
It should definitely help to reduce this kind of lack of sleepers. !*brav*!

Just on the topic of 3d sleepers, every time I have added them to the custom track I've created, they tend to flicker. Is there any shader I can use to eliminate this annoyance?

It would look much more realistic in my opinion, in comparison to the current hover rails.

One way to help reduce flicker is to ensure the ties don't share the texture with other objects (aka: wood, concrete or rails on the same texture). As you move through gamespace, you're viewing the tie object on at least one edge and may be seeing a darker or lighter part of the texture as the mipmap takes over.
Cheers!
