I decided to get the new B&O route during the Fall Sale. I do like it quite a bit. I noticed it has some modified stock and new assets. As someone who has been working on my Ohio prototype route since Rail Simulator,I have created the whole route with no payware assets.(OK some HSC trees) I will eventually need custom structures, etc, etc. The RECAP project created a variety of assets to use,but here are some basic things that are really needed.
Roads of all types WITH berms/elevated shoulders. Paper thin roads only work on flat as a pancake terrain. I spend hours using re-skinned terrain lofts to make roads look more convincing. (elevated)
The same can be said for track. I have used the freeware Scale-Rail for all of my trackwork. I would love to see those (or a freeware track) come with "fill" attached to one or both sides.
I have mentioned this multiple times. Bridge SIDES. Rarely does a bridge cross a stream or road at an exact 90 degree angle. The ability to assemble bridges with skewed sides is always an issue.(plate girder, truss, etc)
The ability to have traffic of an appropriate era controlled by the designation in your initial blueprint. This is a core game problem,I know.
Shale type rock objects. Loft or otherwise. We have lost of igneous to choose from, but not so useful for the Eastern US.
How about this.... A list that designates the difference between freeware/core assets, and payware? It gets a bit more complex when some DLC became included on later versions. It would be great to have-game,but and external database would be a great community project.
These are just a few things that would really help. It wont be long until I have 10 years in this route, and I still will not be happy enough with it to release a beta.
