Passengerless platform

Unread postby 901meister » Sun Jun 12, 2016 5:07 pm

I am building a new route and can't seem to find a platform to use for an industrial siding. Everyone I try to use generates passengers. Anyone know of a platform that does not generate passengers? I have tried setting the generate setting to zero, but still get passengers. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The "inv" platforms from the Kuju assets work for me. They spawn passengers by default, but setting the density to 0% does stop that. In theory, that should work with any other platform loft too -- you can even set daytime-dependent spawn rates by clicking the "+" sign on the right-hand flyout panel and then filling in the start time for each spawn rate (see screenshot below).

Cheers

Hi,

I've tried several different platforms, but all give the same results. When I set the density to zero and save and re-open the platform properties the density has always re-set itself to 10. I know I am probably doing something wrong. This is my first route in TS2016.(I was a Trainz user for 16 years and just made the switch.) I will attach a screenshot of the problem.

I haven't tried any invisible platforms(not sure how an invisible platform will work). I'll keep trying different platforms and see if I can get one to work. The learning curve for TS2016 is pretty steep.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

Now that you mention it, I think I had a similar issue with the RE and the platform options. It may be that your edits didn't "stick" even before saving them.

Try this:
- double click the platform loft
- click on density box on right side panel
- input new number, press ENTER when done and before mouse-clicking anywhere else
- unselect the platform loft by clicking somewhere else (the sky)
- save your work, exit to the main menu, reload and check if the changes were saved correctly

If it doesn't work, try it on another route (maybe the issue is limited to the route you're working on, which would indicate one or some corrupted route tiles -- a rare thing in TS, but not impossible).

Cheers

Hi again,

I think I have fixed the "problem" by setting the density at all daylight times to zero percent. Really simple when you think of it. !DUH! So far no passengers have shown up at the cotton warehouse looking for a ride to the big city!
Perhaps I'll dig out my copy of 3DS and start designing again or at least check out the platform files to see if they can be modified. An industrial rail platform seems like a basic requirement for a trainsim. Needed for team tracks also.
Thanks Michael,

PM me the dimensions you are looking for and I can make one. Shouldn't be too terribly difficult to crank out.
