Looking for an Assistant

Unread postby B-24_LIBERATOR » Mon Nov 16, 2015 2:27 am

Hello all, you probably don't remember me, I'm that guy that ragequit Railworks a few years back because his HDD crashed !**duh*!!

Anyhow, some of you may have seen my post earlier this year for a new route I was working on... it was dumped in favor of a much bigger and better project.

I have teamed up with a well known developer to help create (in my own words) the greatest DLC for Railworks in the history of forever! But I cannot do it alone. Those 3 of you that remember me probably remember that I have only modified existing routes or created ones solely from my imagination, well that's all about to change. We are beginning work on an un-named historical railroad somewhere in the vicinity of Earth, and I need a teacher to guide me though the steps to importing terrain and laying quality track. The person in question much be patient, detail oriented, have or are willing to download TeamSpeak, have experience making real world routes (preferably more than 1), and are able to devote a good amount of their time while I get the route set up (also keep any info on the DLC on the hush hush till we decide we want to tease people). In return, I will give said person pre-release privileges on the route ( I'm not sure how... *name currently withheld*..... *the other developer would feel about giving beta privileges on the rolling stock).

I remember you 24 !!*ok*!! I still look fondly on your reworked Brauer Lumber from the COA. You have a great eye for detail. I look forward to seeing your progress and wish you well...

One thing though; dont forget DTG will be releasing the new version of what ever they are going to call it, probably next year, so I wouldnt let the grass grow under your feet :D

I was pretty annoyed when I lost everything, I had a huge asset library built up. Oh well...

Trust me, you wont be disappointed with this project. I'm working with a professional developer who will be creating most of the assets for this route (which at the moment is looking to be a little over 100 miles) as well as new locomotive(s) and rolling stock. With how large the route is I hope that I can match (or surpass) the level of detail that went into BBCLC. We're trying to come up with better ways to improve the look of Railworks without going overboard and I believe we've got some pretty good ideas so far.

We've got plenty of information and photos on the railroad in question, it's a famous yet somewhat obscure line that has impressive scenery and a good collection of rolling stock that you definitely have never seen in Railworks (or maybe even knew existed). I don't want to give any information away yet though, gotta build the hype up for when we officially announce it *!twisted!*

One that has surprised me that has never been tackled, is the Rio Grande from Alamosa Co through to Chama NM. Stunning scenery (although Alamosa - Antonito is a bit rubbish), but there were the huge facilities of both gauges at Alamosa and then there is Cumbres Sumit about 75 miles away at 10015 feet. All of the rolling stock, including MOW, freight cars etc, locomotives are just sitting there waiting to be measured and recorded. (most likely heading there in March for a snow clearing photo charter).

Can live in hope i guess...

Good luck - just dont over sell. Always under sell and over deliver, that way your paying public are pleasantly surprised. If you let it all out too early, there is no anticipation, and that is a large part of the experience

!*cheers*!

I am under selling it *!rolleyes!*

Imagine 100 or so miles of track and scenery laid by me with help from a very good developer to design all of the assets (plants, track, buildings, etc...) as well as all new rolling stock (and you know we picked good rolling stock *!!wink!!* ). I'm pretty excited myself and I know what it is.

It may or may not be all that far from Alamosa though, but what do I know !**duh*!!

All right enough children. If he wants to post about this he can start a new thread.
