Making 180 degree turns on any route

Unread postby CSX2057 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 7:59 am

Hey guys, I was thinking about making 180 degree turn like from Whiskey River Railway for the Folkston Funnel. What would you guys think about it? Think it's a good idea? Bad Idea?

How about more information? What's leading you toward this action?

Well the thing is, is that all these routes has the end of the line, but you can't turn the train around? I was wondering if its possible if I can make a train heading toward Winokur in folkston and turn the train around from NB and back to Moncrief SB.

Whiskey Railway and other Live Steamers usually has these U-Turns. You see what I'm saying?

Not a huge fan of reverse loops in Railworks but do what you want.

I'm not a scenario maker, but why not just put an engine on the back end of the train and switch positions to drive it back to the beginning end?

Disregard, I've changed my mind. I'm gonna make the "Y" instead of U-Turn. I can build yards Past the Y outside of the route.

Are you thinking of a balloon loop? Aren't there any coal routes available that include these?

Coal trains can head one of two directions:

1. South off the end of the route heading to the large Seminole Generating plant in Bostwick, FL or to the Stanton Energy plant in Taft, FL.
2. Take the turnout at Callahan to head to the TECO plant in Tampa or further south to the Indian Town generating station near Okeechobee, FL.
