How to fix bad track?

Unread postby _o_OOOO_oo-Kanawha » Sun May 03, 2015 4:37 am

In Sherman Hill, there are a couple of spots where the train jolts badly.

I finally managed to locate such a spot, here:
BadTrackJoint.jpg

how do I fix that bad joint, or is it the superelevation? Fixing it without breaking scenarios.

If at or near a curve, and from the RE, see if the shape is an easement and that SE is checked in the right fly out menu when selected.
Cheers!

Which of the little boxes is that?
RE = route editor?
SE = super elevation?

Try splitting the track on the break then welding it. If that does not work try using the gradient tool and putting the point right on the break, that sometimes works for me also.

I'll bet money that's one of two spots on Sherman with Super Elevation problems.
That shot appears to be near Granite.
The other spot is near a Hermosa Tunnel portal.
I've got a Tracks.bin file that will fix those without breaking scenarios, but when I asked about it here in these forums, and told then RSC about it, nobody answered...

Going to prove that no one but you and Edwin cared about it.

Errrrrrr?

Are you saying no one but Edwin and I care about the problem, or are you asking me to prove that we are the only ones that care?
Are you telling me to "Buzz" off? !*roll-laugh*!

I care. !*salute*!
"Life is like a journey, taken on a train
With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."
