Is it possible to get dual gauge track to render?

Unread postby SAR704 » Mon Feb 02, 2015 7:30 am

I'm thinking of modelling a town which consists of two gauges. Broad and narrow. Is there any way to get dual gauge track laying properly in this game, or am I dreaming?

The state I live in had 3 different mainline gauges, and at some places, these met up.

Going by the yard diagram, it will be harder to do this dual gauge yard in TS than MSTS. The only way to do it is to have track overlapping the other with some points not having gaps. The most important thing is getting the two gauges in though, with the points being secondary.

The route I'm thinking of doing has not one but two dual gauge yards. if I proceed onwards to the town to the west of the proposed terminus, there will be three towns with dual gauge track. One having broad, standard, and narrow gauge all together. It looks like the track loft wasn't designed to take two gauges into account. However, I'm no expert on lofts, so I could be wrong.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions that may help me with this tricky task?

I made this test looooooooong time ago. I made two tracks. The broad gauge is just a normal track, nothing strange here. The second track has only one rail, left or right, pick one. And no ballast. I layed the second track using the ofset tool and doing some math to get a more or less precise gauge.
