Weld of track problems

Unread postby davedingler » Sun Feb 09, 2014 10:14 am

Hey All, I've been having a problem with the "Weld" operation in TS2014. I've been working on rail overpass's and surrounding area tracks approaching a yard. As I complete a section of track and click on the weld symbol, tracks that I have already laid over a bridge snap to the surface. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing it.

I seems to happen where there is a break or former weld in the track that is over the span and causes me to go back and redo the track laying over the span and all the fussing that is required due to the slope to and past the bridge.

Anyone got Ideas on how to prevent this?

Dave

I just tried to fix a section of the track that I've been working on. Deleted all the tracks over and under the bridges. laid a new section of track over the bridge connecting to a existing track and attaching to a section the other side of the bridge. I had an indication that the connection was made and clicked to join them. The other end of the section snaped to terrain and not the track to be joined. BAH!

Are you pushing the "Weld" button cause you cant get the tracks to connect freehand? It sounds like the "Weld" is trying to make a crossover weld, which might explain why the track keep's connecting to the ground. Have look under the ground to see if there are still any track object's there?

Thanks, JM,
I did check under the terrain but didn't discover any stray track. There were however, a couple of strays above ground that I found and cleared those. I then relayed the track and all seems good at the time being.
