Yikes - easier with the old system, albeit this one is much faster in loading and getting what's needed. !**duh*!!
Cheers!

Does this mean that we can use a Google Earth path to get coordinates in ReDEM, and then use those coordinates (the extent) to grab topography to use in ReDEM?

Thanks,
Rick

I do believe so, but you have to convert your .kml Google Earth path to a .csv. RWTools will do that.

Hi Guys,

I got a nice email from Jim at Zugware (ReDem creator), and he is going to take a look at the new National Map stuff to give us new instructions for use with ReDem.

He also doesn't believe we will have to "stitch" the BILs together beforehand.

Thanks to Jim for continued support!!

Take care,
Rick

I have used multiple BIL files for my route without stitching. What is the problem you are seeing?

Good news, I thought he had abandoned the product.

Now for those who have still the problem that the map viewer is not appearing: Change your system language to Englisch(USA) and your computer location to United States.

nevermind, i found what i was looking for. *!greengrin!*

for anybody who is going to be needing dem from the great white north heres the link to the geobase data thing: http://www.geobase.ca/geobase/en/find.do?produit=cded

its much easier than that one for the us, this one you just click the tile you want and then you download it. that simple!

I've started work on a .pdf to guide us through this. I have all the ReDEM help pages saved off and will add those in, so hopefully the guide will be from beginning to end of the entire process.

But to answer your question, I would think you would process each separate .BIL download through ReDEM. I am going to try and use MicroDEM to "stitch" all of the separate .BIL files together into one, so you only have to run the terrain generation process once in ReDEM.

In Jim's email to me he read this entire thread and he offered that as a response to the thread and my question....

Take care,
Rick
