The Simplified Era on the Rock Island - As Worn by Manly Junction's E8A 652 and E6A 630. (There is nothing close to an E6 in TS sadly, so this shall have to do, making use of Buzz's fabulous E7 windows, modified to E6 sizing, and grillwork).

Thoughts?

Next will be the Rocket Scheme that both of these wore in the earlier part of the 21st century, the late 20th century, and early in their lives.
EDIT: 652 is complete:

Next I shall get onto BN-3. This probably will not be done until the end of the month IF nothing comes up.

Finishing up the final few units.

Here is BN-3, an E9Am, pulled for executive service alongside the F9 set. The unit was built as CB&Q E9A 9989A in 1956, before being rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen as E9Am No. 9919. It entered executive service around 1993.

This rounds out my selection of BN E9A units, in BN, faux-CB&Q, IC Executive, CN, CNR, and Autumn Harvest.

The CB&Q livery is modified from Buzz's CB&Q unit, with new stainless textures on the 9913, added children, HEP, 645 engine sounds, and less modification on 9920 as its restoration is less accurate, such as black wheels, and in real life it carries BNSF branding. If anyone absolutely has to have a BNSF branded version, drop me a message and such can be arranged. The BN units are colour matched to Mr Logan's BN unit pack, and used some of its textures for a basis.

The IC, BN, and IPH liveries are all my own. I have also made modified versions of Buzz's CNR 102 and Drew's CN 103, to add HEP grills, ditchlights, and 645 sounds reflecting their BN E9Am heritage.

If only it was like this in real life. (It would take significant financial effort): RF&P E8A No. 1002.

Mid-stage work in progress. I hope you enjoy.

Thank you again to Buzz for the fabulous MILW 32A, in as preserved condition.

The second to the last unit, URHS's former NJDoT (ex-PRR) 4253, a rebuilt (ICG Paducah) E8A (or E8Am/E8Au to some). Seen here rolling out of the North Yard's Car Shop, where painting is fictionally done.

The last unit left to do is WSOR 103 (later SLRG), ex-Alaska, today AC&WR 103. I am still undecided how to do it. I started it some time ago, when it was still in WSOR livery, but now it is AC&WR, however if Kalamazoo Terminal had acquired it, the unit would have come with the bankruptcy sale with all the other units, and it therefore would have likely kept the WSOR livery, or gone brown and orange. (Mechanically the unit is a close twin to MILW 32-A, which was former WSOR 101. (102 was the B unit). However

The livery debate also surrounds Metra/RTA ex-CNW E8Au No. 521. The real unit (sadly scrapped recently) was in Metra Blue and Red, however there is a part of me that would like to have one in RTA (since 516 is in Metra Blue), but this would break up the "pair" of having an A-A lashup of Metra units. I had done both in matching Metra Paint, but am now reconsidering. (Although RTA would also require redoing different child objects). Thoughts?

After input from several Train Sim users/members, Metra 521 has been backdated to a loose RTA appearance (a few stripping difference based upon the children). I give you RTA (ex-CNW) 521. (The real unit sadly was scrapped fairly recently).

Interestingly the turntable had to be replaced, I was using: Assets\G-TraX\MaineMaritime\RailNetwork\Turntables\GX_Turntable100-40_02.GeoPcDx

The G-Trax 100-40 V2 turntable was previously used, and had G-Trax MaineMaritine ticked, however as soon as one saved the route and loaded back in, the turntable would disappear. It was a nice 100' with raised sides, but alas no luck.

I shall have to check my older versions of the route (V1 and V2) and see if the table has disappeared there as well. If there is anyone with insight to this table problem, any advice is welcome.

Revisiting a classic (the first E unit I did for Kalamazoo, well technically the second as the first one placed was 515, but they use the same textures).

SLRG/IPH/SNC 518 (ex-Metra, RTA, CNW) was fitted with a plow. After the excellent thread by Buzz, QCRail, and Jalsina regarding the plow on the GP20, I have trialed the plow on the 518, and after some scaling, I feel this is a fair representation of the plow on 518. Below is the unit (with 515 behind) outside of the North Yard (at what would be the 'Glass House' for GM&O Fans). This building was razed a few years ago.

Now the only major difference is the headlight, Iowa Pacific to my knowledge never got around to putting the second light back in 518. The glass was there, but the light was not. This is something I have yet to decide if I will remove. The Kalamazoo version will certainly keep its light.

The Last One:

This was the last unit left on my list to complete. All 75 surviving E units circa 2020 (when I began this project) are in game, plus multiple variants:
Screenshot_[KTR] Kalamazoo Terminal Ry. V3_42.31027--85.57648_10-00-33.jpg

In this case I felt with the Fox Valley route, one might like a matched A-B-A set, so I did 101 and 102 to compliment 103 in WSOR Livery. I will be glad to do a pre-2009 version with beacon too. I also did an SLRG patched 103 and 102 set, and 103 in patched Kalamazoo Terminal Livery. (101 is Buzz's fabulous MILW 32A from the 261 Group, and 102B forms part of the matched A-B-A IC set).

Thank you to so many for help:
Buzz for the fabulous skins and putting up with my incessant rivet counting.
Kris for help with the lights.
Martin Ashwill did the lovely child object ditchlights, portholes, and some light flares.
I am blanking on the name of the creator at TruRail who did the sounds and beacons, but those are fabulous assets.
The CentralJerseyRailfan's fabulous 567 and 645BC sound packs and Horns, and the incredible Horn-Switcher feature from the BeastWar'sEnjoyer EMD FP7 Pack, which gave me the idea to make my own dual horn GP38s (as SOU units had directional horns), dual horn 'Monon' units, copying the M5/A200 onto the Wabash 1009 which had an M5 and A200.

Screenshot_[KTR] Kalamazoo Terminal Ry. V3_42.31372--85.57860_10-00-35.jpg

Time to tidy up all the .bak files, check all the images, and check lots of headlights for vertical/horizontal.

Where it all began.......

It came to my attention that the DTM ALCo FA-1 featured Trainphone antennas. As such I have stretched one slightly in height, and put two of them together, to give this appearance on the Juniata Terminal's ex-PRR E8s: 5711 and 5809.
