World War II is over and the RS-1's being a success Columbia Valley Pacific reached out to EMD for a pair of F3 locomotives.

Having an issue to get the CVP road name to appear on Britkits locomotives. I have installed the file from Harry Adkins but I don't know how to apply using Dickyjim's number/naming format.

This scheme is so simple yet eye catching.

!*YAAA*! The CVP roster is growing! Beautiful engines are coming our way. Wayne, that paint CVP scheme is beautiful and seems to work on just about any locomotive body.

This route is fast becoming an absolute favorite of mine. It's a very entertaining playground, somewhat similar in concept to Richard Garber's old MSTS routes with a lovingly created fictional railroad and just a ton of possibilites on an interesting layout (and of course the CVP is much better looking). I love it!

Cheers

Quesstion: Could 100lb rail withstand 2-10-2s or 4-8-4s? MKT had 90lb rail, which meant it could only support up to Mikados. !*don-know!*

Surely it is more about traffic justifying engines. The track may be able to carry the axle load of a 2-10-2 but would the traffic require it. Big engines burn lots of fuel and add to the track maintenance. Railroads then built or bought to suit an economic need against cost graph, it is still the same but standardisation is a much bigger factor. Big engines were not easily obtained on the used market until all steam engines were en masse available. The CVP would have obtained most of its engines from the used market or as an add on order with an operating partner. If you want realism then 2-10-2s and 4-8-4s would be rare visitors but if you want to run them anyway, it is an imaginary line (all be it based on realism), use your imagination. Rail poundage - who cares?

What do you all think?

My justification would be that since the CVP is connected to both GN and CP, I think? The CVP would work as a bridge route for heavy international traffic across the Rockies.

In the late 1910s, the 2-8-0s and Mikados were working well, but the loads were beginning to be too much for them on the steep grades. CVP saw that the Bessemer and Lake Erie railroad was very successful with its 2-10-2s. So CVP asked Baldwin to build some engines of the same design, except with lighter materials to handle their 100lb rail better. They ordered 5 engines, numbers 975-979. The locomotives arrived on property in 1921. !!*ok*!!

Would this be an okay story, Mr. Campbell, since it is your route?

For the engine, I used CArailroader's GN V2 2-10-2 and made my own tender using harryadkins' CVP logo.

!*cheers*!
