This is all true.
I had thought the other day, of releasing the "basic" version of my Donner Redo, and then adding over time with RCAP. But if I do that, I'll probably just release the RCAP version via Google Drive to the locals here.

I had actually told Bob to remove the first one, but he hasn't done that, and I don't want to have three or four versions on this site.

As a side note, I got a laugh the other day.
While perusing YouTube, the random selections showed a video that someone in Russia had made of my Donner Redo installed. It just blew my mind.
Not only that the files had gotten that far, but that Google/YouTube knew it was related to me somehow... !**duh*!!

You're right Erik. I was just trying to limit how many blasted routes a person needs.

The good thing about Sherman Hill is that everybody that bought TS2016 has it, plus some that got it independently (without buying TS2016).
It is like a free set of assets.

What about re-skinning the signal posts to your desired color?

That could work. I was looking through the RCAP stuff for the first time. There isn't really any signals for me to use.
I'm thinking that Donner's signals may actually be wanky. I've messed with the problem area around Alta for some time and the best I can do is get back the red lights stuck on, or a yellow stuck that way west of the town of Alta.
I thought I was going nuts, but I can place signals from Cajon Pass and make them work just fine. It's just the Donner signals that are giving me headaches in some areas.

I may save a backup of the current setup and then make a copy of the redo route and modify the Alta area with Cajon Signals just as an experiment.

Testing is difficult, since I'm not close to any scenario start points and running from a saved scenario when testing signals seems to lead to inconsistent results.

Here's an interesting tidbit.
While looking at Google Maps today at Alta Ca, I noticed for the first time that the crossover network at Alta appears to only have one crossover at the west end.
The east crossover doesn't appear to exist.
The one crossover appears in the images to be hand thrown and only for access to spurs for MoW and RIP.

If anyone has a diagram map from the S.P. era in that area (or where to view one) I'd like a peek.

I found mention of "double crossovers" at Gold Run MP 152.6 here http://home.earthlink.net/~donwinter/Railroad%20Infrastructure%20and%20Traffic%20Data/Trunk%20Routes/Overland%20Route/Route%20Descriptions/Donner%20Pass.htm and they are also shown in the 2009 UP Roseville Sub Timetable 5 along with 2 more single crossovers from Track 1 to 2 eastward near Alta, and another Midas at MP 161.4.

Looking at the fog charts I see double crossovers at Gold Run between the beginning and end of the siding and then 2 more single crossovers eastward from Track 1 to 2 near Towle 156.8/9 and another Midas at MP 161.4.

Looking at Google Earth I see a crossover near the west end of the siding at Gold Run, but only eastward from Track 2 to 1. I can't see better than that, so the other crossover from Track 1 to 2 eastward may be there. There's another crossover from Track 1 To 2 eastward alongside I80 and Casa Loma Rd, east of Pulp Mill Ditch and west of Canyon Creek just before a track 1 trailing spur. The next crossover, again eastward from Track 1 to Track 2 is at Midas.

Hope I described those right.... It's all I could find.
