I DID,until the last of the "extreme trains" episodes on youtube were removed. The only one left on youtube is named "Amtrak's GE Genesis :Full Doc." I have the NS coal train one on dvd, though. And yes,the main point of the route is for trains to run to Denver. But I think some racetrack station equipment could come in handy for Denver, but I don't have the racetrack at the moment.Maybe once the track work and some basic scenery is done,I'll send it to whoever is willing to tidy up Denver.

If it were me, just use the Sherman Hill tracks for the trackage on the route, then we can go from there.

Yup.That's what I'm doing as we speak. But the terrain is so annoying I can't get one certain area to go up without another part rising above the existing tracks. And when I try to extend the tracks from where the tracks end, they come out uneven,as in the new track is tilted to one side.

Do you know how to use the 'snap to track' feature?

What this does is bring the terrain level with the track. You need to read the manual to understand all the ends and outs however here's a quick snapshot of it and you can play around with it.
snaptotrack_1.jpg

Open the world editor. 1- click on the terrain tool. 2- Click on the snap to symbol. 3-This is the snap to track the other choices are snap to road and the third is snap to lofts. 4-is the width of what you are flattening. There is a square choice and a round choice. You'll just have to fiddle to see what you want. The other features determine the angle of the bank and the size. You will need to read the manual to see your choices but you can start with the default values to get started. Just hold the left mouse key down and away you go.

Don't forget to not try to do too much without un-clicking the mouse so if you have a screw up you can undo without undoing a half mile or something. Additionally save with the F2 key frequently so when you get out of editor even if the game crashes (which it will do once in a while) the only thing that will be lost is the very last thing you did.

Let me know if you have problems.

!**conf**! The trains are 100% going to derail on this kind of track glitch.

That takes skill to get it that mangled. Do you have the 'superelevation' box ticked or something?

Other than the track, which I think the problem is superelevation, I see you got the DEM/SRTM working.

I just put a short train on the track, and that track glitch in my earlier post is avoidable,as long as you are under the track limit (50 mph) but I went 21 mph and the train was fine,I suggest you all keep to the limit when the route is done.

Bad track joints like that are often easy to fix. My route had a bunch of them in the early going. Can you zoom out and take a pic of the track layout leading up to it?

Also, you can check track properties (including superelevation) by tapping the space bar while I the world editor. I believe the 7th or 8th time you press it will be for superelevation. Track ribbons with super-L will appear yellow, while regular track will be blue. If the track at the bad joint displayed above is blue on one side, and yellow on the other, then you know the source of the problem.

Which section are you trying to add? IIRC, all track is there at Cheyenne, but I believe there's a gap between the C&S flyover and Speer Jct. Beyond that it's mostly single track to Denver.
Cheers!
