Well, funny you'd ask that...

Progress is going slowly but surely. Finally reached Harrisburg (again). Working on the Pittsburgh Line part of things...(up to CP-Banks at the end of scenery), next is the Buffalo line...(a few miles of it), and then onto re-doing Enola Yard and some of the tracks that continue on past that. Once that's all done, trackwork is complete (for the NS portion). Still need to finish the Raritan Valley Line (up to Raritan). I also have some sections of the NEC and maybe North Jersey Coastline I'm going to throw in for added measure. Still deciding on that. But once the majority of trackwork is complete... Scenery, scenery, scenery.

As far as things I'm debating on/not too happy with are my choice of signals...yes, they display the proper aspects (for the most part), but I wish I had something more akin to the actual signals along the route. RCAP would have been a great choice if it weren't missing a few aspects I needed, or aspects with the correct links (like a Gantry mounted 1/3 for 3+ track links, single safetran intermediate signal, 2 over 2 block signal, etc.) I would be able to use the same signal pack across the whole route. But, instead I have to contend with mix and match. (Ugh).

So that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Comments/suggestions welcome as always...

Until the next!

yes... multiple examples...

https://www.railpictures.net/photo/582535/
2/2 signal instead of 3/2 on Track number 1 (far right of signal bridge)

showimage2.jpg

1/3 signal on the bridge. (doesn't matter how many links... RCAP only has 1/3 as a ground option)

showimage5.jpg

1/1/3 coming off the Washington secondary
3/3 on the Main line

showimage3.jpg

Single head 3 light west. (stand or gantry mount option would be nice)

showimage4.jpg

1/3/3 on the signal bridge

showimage1.jpg

1/3 with other light positions blacked out on Type G signals. (former Conrail signals)

Those are most of the examples.

My suggestion is to improvise using the RCAP signals. I'm currently facing this issue, as I'm working on a modernized Pittsburgh Line from Altoona-Johnstown. I was able to model the cab signal "restricting" heads as a non-functional scenery object which makes things more immersive. I might do some work into seeing if it's possible to separate some of the post mount signals into gantry mounts. It's already possible to change the amount of track links. As for the one-off aspects, you'll just have to use what is handed to you, unfortunately. I'm not sure when I'll get to it, but when I do I'll be sure to share it here for you. I'm excited to see more progress, as the Lehigh Line is my home line. Keep up the good work!

Cool! yeah... any help with those will do. The Lehigh is also my home territory as well. I'm hoping to do it and the rest of the line to Harrisburg justice. It's cool you have the cab signal signals...I might need them for the small section of the Pittsburgh Line I have there. I'm basically only running up to CP-Banks plus a mile or two. Right now, I have a mix of Miami/Soldier Summit/Hanover/RCAP/NJC signals to make everything work. Hoping I can streamline it down.

I was able to make gantry versions of the 1/3 and 3/1 signals by editing the bin files. Unfortunately, not much can be done with the G-type signals right now. The 1/3 signals have up to 5 links if or when you need them.

12/4/2024 - A brief update...

Scenery-
Work continues with scenery.
Looking for roads that don't look bad... trying to figure out what will suit my needs. Any pointers on what roads to use would be greatly appreciated. I need a variety of road markings and traffic patterns and divided highways are a must for some locations.
Started Scenery on CSX Trenton Sub to fill in bald spots.
Started re-planting Trees with AP Trees (look great and not too bad on frame rate)

Track Work-
Completed the majority of track work on the Raritan Valley line from Aldene to Raritan - need to put markers and some signals in.
CSX River Sub extended up to CP 5(ish) and adding NYSW trackage and yards north of North Bergen
Minor track corrections with curvature and oddities I find along the way

Screenshots-
Coming soon when I have time to take some.

Nice to see progress is still coming along! I came across this thread for the first time in a few years, I used to follow the updates posted all the time. What's everything that's going to be included upon release?

Glad you asked...

In short...

Norfolk Southern:
The Harrisburg Division of Norfolk Southern from Harrisburg, PA - Manville, NJ.

CSX:
- Trenton Subdivision (a few miles)
- River Line (North Bergen, NJ to CP-5)
- South Kearny Yard
- North Bergen Yard
Basically, for variety of traffic for all the CSX traffic in and out of the area.

Conrail North Jersey Shared Asset Operations:
- Lehigh Line (Manville, NJ - Newark, NJ)
- National Docks Secondary
- Garden State Secondary (Chemical Coastline)
- Port Reading Secondary
- Passaic and Harsimus Line

Conrail South Jersey Shared Asset Operations:
- Amboy Secondary to Browns Yard in Old Bridge, NJ (some trackage into Helmetta, NJ)
- Possible extension into Sayreville (still debating)

Amtrak:
Northeast Corridor NYP to New Brunswick (includes Freight trackage)

NJ Transit
Hoboken - Newark Penn
North Jersey Coastline from Rahway, NJ to South Amboy, NJ
Raritan Valley Line Aldene connection to Raritan Yard

Industrial:
Potentially Raritan Center trackage off of the NEC and other Industrial trackage

I plan to give a lot of options as far as if people want to run long haul, short haul, passenger, locals, industrial...give everyone a taste of what Railroading is like in this area of the country.
