Merge routes

Unread postby wlenz781 » Mon Dec 16, 2019 12:38 pm

Does anyone know if there is any way to merge routes? A few of us are working on the KCS mainline. I have three current routes that need merged into one. The primary goes from Shreveport and Texarkana, AR, the other two are pieces of the route between Shreveport and Dallas. I want to merge the other two and have all three in one route.

I have searched the forum and I only find some old posts from years ago talking about how much work it is. I have tried RWMerge with no success. I know that it is possible since on the Workshop there are routes from Danny that has successfully merged DLCs together.

Its still a lot of work, and each route will need to have the same base coordinates to even try making the merge EASY. Not to mention the problems with terrain, assets, scenarios won't work, and matching track rules. TS doesn't lend itself well to mergers like Trainz has in the past. I am sure there is more, just my immediate take on your venture, good luck.

I'm in complete agreement with this. It's quite a chore. Maybe you could ask Danny on his Facebook page how it's done.

"her" Facebook page? :P I'm male :P

Route merging isn't really that hard to do, but for me it's not so easy to explain :) - if the routes share the same route point of origin, it's mostly copy / paste for mixmaps / scenery / terrain / roads and lofts tiles , tracks on the other hand is a bit more complex.

Sorry about that! Made the post on a phone. Autocorrect kills me sometimes.

Just curious if you've made a video showing how you've done it. I created my own route in my area and there's another freeware route that overlaps a little and would like to merge them.
