As far as route markers go, what would be the best one to use for things such as mileposts, defect detectors, tunnels, etc. I've been using the siding marker but can't decide on that or destination markers??
any input would be helpful!

I would personally go with destination markers for that. It really doesn't make a ton of difference, but for routing purposes I think it works slightly better. I would also try and make the marker a bit longer, just so that in the scenario editor it's a bit easier to click on.
