Have you tried entering the World Editor, splitting the junction and then re-welding it again? From this situation, RailWorks should render the junction by default, along the straighter of the two tracks.

Hi Adam,
That is the problem :D

In the above screen shot, the main line runs off to the left on a curve. The branch line runs off to the right and its leg is straighter than the main line leg, so unfortunately your suggestion will not work *!sad!* Is it too late to add another option to Rail Works 3 giving us the ability to change the default path through a switch in the World Editor *!question!*

Hiya,

Trying laying the arms of the junction in different orders. Delete both sides and lay the straigher first and then the curved, or vice versa and see if that makes a difference.

My earlier reply was in the belief you wanted the junction to be the straighter one by default.

Hi Adam,
No joy *!sad!* **!!bang!!** !*hp*! I"m still getting !!spank!! It does not matter if I lay the mainline first then the branch, or branchline first then the mainline. I even tried working from East to West main line first, then branch line and vise-versa, then working West to East with the same results. As you mentioned earlier I believe RW sets the default path toward the straigher leg of the switch. Is it too late to add an option to RW3 that would allow us to set the other leg as the default? **!!2cents!!**

As I mentioned a few posts back, on page 1 ( viewtopic.php?p=24286#p24286 ), I'm pretty sure I read somewhere (or maybe it was Rich Garber that told me) that the main path is the straightest leg of the switch.

Yep, Sadly something like this wont get into Train Simulator 2012. I can only recommend an adjustment of the switch to be straighter on the left, or to set the junction in the scenario using the Initial Save state.

Agreed, Hawk; the CLEAR state defaults to the straighter track, whether or not that is the main path. I think what we're after here is to learn where this indication is saved so that we can manually change it. I, too, have tried every combination/sequence of construction, splitting, welding... all result in the same default result. Adam, how can we override and/or change this? I am going to assume it is in the Tracks.bin because that is where the location of the switch and the accompanying track segments are recorded. Glancing through there though, it doesn't appear obvious to me.

Im afraid I completely recommend against editing of the tracks.bin outside of the tools supplied with RailWorks. !!**sorry**!!
