Bumbleberry Creek - narrow gauge rework

Unread postby ozinoz » Mon Aug 22, 2016 5:50 pm

I am the first to admit I know nothing, zero, zip, the big emu egg, not a freak'n thing about route building (amongst other things - but that is another story) But I would like to have a stab at doing something I can possibly share and I have a feeling I am about to get some extra free time fairly soon with my current employment looking like ending. *!sad!*

The question is, can somebody explain simply what is involved in changing track laid on a route. With the new Clear Creek NG route and some new logging assets on the horizon (which look amazing) and NG locos & rolling stock, I thought I might look at replacing the track on the reworked Tori / Bauer COA V4.5 which B24 Liberator put out 18 months or so ago as Bumbleberry, with the NG track from Clear Creek. How do I kick this off? I believe each route can only have 1 track blueprint. How do I point it to the new track and if successful, does that mean the old track instantly disappears. I would sort of like to go slowly replacing SG for NG as I went. Is this doable?

Just a thought, but as Tori has given her blessing on mod releases, thought it was worth a go.

Thoughts?

!*cheers*!

I believe you can do the changeover using RWTools. On my route, I did a wholesale change like that simply by editing a file or two using RWTools. It's been a couple of years, so I'd have to research what files again, but I'm sure someone here will chime in with specifics.

As for blueprints, I have no idea. I do know that a route can have more than one trackrule active. I have three different trackrules on my route.

The RWTools manual explains how to do it with great specific instruction. If you want to do this read it. If you have trouble finding the section because I actually printed it out and was pleasantly surprised to find it worked perfectly.

Cheers guys...

That thing is really the Swiss army knife of RW utilities. I had seriously never given that a thought (and I have the software) - thought it might be harder than that. Will give it a bash and see...

*!!thnx!!*
