Okay, I am stumped

So I got the Spirit of Steam DLC for TSW2 and I actually love it. It's actually pretty dern cool to operate a steam locomotive in this simulator. However, there is one scenario that I'm having issues with. Clock Face Colliery has you start in the rain, but no matter how ginger I am with the regulator, I always get wheelslip. I tried setting the throttle to about 10% and then slowly bleed off the brakes, I tried adjusting the johnson bar (reverser) etc. Nothing seem to work after I pull the slack out of the train. Does anyone have any tips?

I found the issue, some of the cars needed their vacuum brakes released manually. After that it was smooth sailing.
