Anyone Purchased TSW2?

Has anyone purchased TSW2 yet and care to share their thoughts?

I made the purchase yesterday and made a run up the Sand Patch.

Overall it definitely seems like a performance/graphical improvement over the original. There were very few stutters and the graphics seemed more clean then before. The trains also seem to perform more realistically and I had some problems keeping the speed as I went up and down grade.

Ultimately I think the lack of custom scenarios and being able to share any scenarios/liveries hurts the fun that can be had with the simulator. Once you play the different services what is there to do?

Hi,

I bought it -- and I love it! !!*ok*!!

While RW is still my overall favorite (because of the editor), TSW2 is, as far as train driving experiences go, currently the one I find the most enjoyable.

I have yet to run Sand Patch, simply because the Bakerloo Line is wonderful! I'm having such a blast with the old tubes and it is rather challenging, too (*very* tight timetables!) And it looks great, both in and outside the tunnels.

The new German route is fun, too -- kudos to DTG for including a high speed line that isn't a "proper" high speed line, but rather an upgraded traditional rail line. Those bespoke high speed rail lines are generally very boring (lots of tunnels, hardly any stations, and miles and miles of concrete walls along the tracks) but the Cologne-Aachen line is beautiful and fun.

I'm happy with my purchase.

Cheers,
Michael

Have it and love it. I played Tsw2020 only sporadically but I think I'll play this one much more. It's going to be hard to find the time to play both sims with new routes and locomotives coming thick and fast for each one.

So far I like it. Yes the physics and operation is realistic.

Bit and bought. Sometimes missing smoke on the second unit. I had this issue before on the original Sand Patch. Clarity is better.

Initial impressions are good, the feel of train operations on sand patch feels improved and the Bakerloo line is a ton of fun.

As an FYI on performance I can keep it pegged at 60fps on ultra with a 2080ti and an i7 7700k cpu.

I should hope do. That's a lot of fire power.

Actually enjoying it a great deal. There are a few warts in particular saving a game and returning can cause issues also all the sound reverb under bridges and tunnels has vanished, but on the DTG list of things to fix.

Some of the "preserved" routes have come over nicely with some improvement in sound performance (apart from the reverb).

I've even splashed out on some extra content which along with the TSW2 itself is the first money I've sent DTG's way for many months.

I have recently been running the Oakville sub from the "Preserved Collection" and am really enjoying it. I recently started using the livery manager and am now able to swap out skins on the locos and rolling stock to make it more interesting.

I am definitely going to purchase the C40-8w when released soon and the Cane Creek sub in the future!
