Go fill it out if you have an opinion on what their future focus should be!

Why spend the time and money to create a survey which is not just for TSW users if they didn't care? It looks like that any of you who have commented have not bothered to check the survey out but just making smart butt comments.

I would like to think they did, considering how many survey's they've run for the last 2 years, but the results are pretty telling otherwise.

It's a mystery. It would be interesting if they would post the results so we could all see how people answered it.

I did the survey. Not because I think it will actually do any good, but in the hope that someday by chance it might.

The questions they ask in a lot of cases aren't that helpful, nor make a lot of sense. I mean I'm glad they asked if I play Run 8 and Trainz, but why are they asking me if I play Project Cars or Fishing Sim World? They seem like a ship that is rudderless and drifting aimlessly. Having bought a ton of DLC from them in the past, I haven't seen a reason to buy any in ages. i don't know if it's arrogance, incompetence or both on their part. How the sound guys at that company still have a job is beyond me.They get so little right when it comes to locomotive sounds. At least the survey gives you a blank text box to list the things you want better, but are they ever gonna truly listen and act on it?

My gut says Dovetail with eventually go out of business if they don't get their act together. Right now they are just treading water and I won't shed a tear if they fail. Why? Because we've tried to give them good input for years and in most cases they just plain ignore it. Luckily we have other train sim options. **!!2cents!!**

I'll pass this along one more time. My wife has to yell at me to turn down the sound when I run TSW. !*salute*!

There is a temporary fix for the quiet sound. You can edit an .ini file to increase it.

Navigate to the folder
<mydocuments>\My Games\TS2Prototype\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
and open the file
GameUserSettings.ini

I have my settings as follows:

MasterSoundVolume=3.500000
MusicSoundVolume=1.500000
SFXSoundVolume=3.500000
AmbienceSoundVolume=2.500000
DialogueSoundVolume=1.500000
ExternalAlertVolume=1.500000
MenuSFXVolume=1.000000

You can play around with these to find something that suits you.

It's not the volume of the sound that's the problem. They sound pretty much nothing like they should, and everything has a flat dynamic range. Not tooting my own horn, well, kind of am, but we do it better in the legacy software which is pretty sad considering they had a clean slate with the new game to try to do better than the likes of us, or Armstrong Powerhouse. They've even gone out of the way to make it impossible to make sound enhancements that change how the sounds play (rather than just replacing files).

New TSW player survey

Unread postby RailWorkshop » Sun Apr 28, 2019 1:31 pm

With so much of experience with TS, the 3rd party developers will definitely go for making their own new built from scratch addons for TSW rather than making enhancement packs.
Will wait the Searchlight Simulations' AC4400CW in TSW also!
!!*ok*!!

I will say it for them. If they think there is a market.
