Preparing for the editor (Terrain data)

Hey all,

So I read on the DTG site that in order to get a "head start" on the editor tools they advised getting into the Unreal Engine editor. So I was going to try to take a stab at this. I also noticed you can import ground terrain and was wondering if downloading LiDAR data would be worth it, or treat it like TS20XX and use regular DEM data. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

Ken

It really comes down to the 'tile size' of the terrain mesh in TSW. If the 'tiles' are the same size as in TS, then anything more than 1/9 would be wasted because the tiles couldn't contour smoothly to the DEM.

that is true, but based on what I've seen already it looks like it's a tighter mesh than TS201X.

Honestly I'm debating on what route I'm going to try to replicate... Thinking of the River Sub or Trenton Sub, since I doubt we'll be seeing NS stuff anytime soon.
