Warning: not for fanbois.

Some posters included their complete bug lists, and now we can conveniently start ticking off the resolved bugs.

Depends on how you define these extremes, and where you put yourself.

DTG are a business and make business decisions as to what features to implement or what bugs to resolve in what order.
I am a paying customer and want products that deliver their advertised qualities in whole. So far, the reduced pre-release price comes with the distinction of essentially being a beta tester. I"ll just follow my support tickets on TSW:CSX. I leave the GWE to the British.

In general, the same issues and bugs both large and small are being reported on all boards in all languages by lots of players.

The lack of any public bug tracker by DTG means the same gets reported over and over again, sometimes in mild language, sometimes not. This obviously creates a lot of traffic and commotion. In general, most discussions are still constructive and helpful. We all want TSW to succeed.

It all depends on how you look at TSW: either as a train driving game best suited to consoles, or a rail transport simulation. Lots of complaints are about the simulation, or lack thereof. One should wonder if we, older players, are really that keen on collectables and other game elements? And wether we are over represented on those boards?

After the initial euphoria of a UE4 powered successor to Railworks I confess myself disappointed. Hopefully, it will all work out in the end. The release of train and scenario editors will most likely put many players into creative mood again.

Nice! They are back up and running. Should be easier to communicate with the boys over at DTG HQ.

" We all want TSW to succeed." I trust that you will understand that many of us are very skeptical that this thing will ever succeed to become an improvement over 2017 other than fancier graphics.

I too am very sceptical, but try to maintain a positive tone.

The models and world are OK, those can easily be commissioned from 3D artists, it is the train simulation, physics, emitters, handling, dispatching and what else that bothers me and many others.
This part is entirely in DTG's hands, and many wonder if their software engineers are really up to it, esp. in implementing the physics as the errors have been pointed out straight from the first alpha release.
That's why I refuse to buy any DLC at full price until the TSW physics' and operations' foundations have proven themselves to be solid and worthy of the term 'railroad simulation'.

Anyways, any heated forum discussions usually simmer down once every voice has had its speaking turn.

One could only wonder and worry wether DTG has the financial means to go without substantial income from DLC sales while the core game is still being developed and improved, a process that could take years.

Great. I think some people have underestimated the success of TrainSimWorld.

Are you saying it's a economic success or a realism success or what?

Just looked at the latest Steam Spy snapshot for peak concurrent players yesterday:

TSW = 321.

TS2017 = 1870.

Although their Flight Sim World seems an even bigger flop with a grand total of 83 concurrent players (FSX SE by comparison had 3301).

Not hard to judge from those figures that sim fans are staying with their tried and trusted titles.

The biggest worry has to be how much DTG has mortgaged their financial stability in both these new titles and what the long term implications might be for those of us with considerable time (and money) invested in the established products.

TSW = 321 with 2 routes

TS2017 = 1870 with well over 100 routes.

TSW = 321 with 2 routes

Well we can discuss semantics all day, but the fact is if I was Paul Jackson I would be calling all my department heads in and demanding an action plan that reverses the stats, on both the train sim and flight sim titles.

TSW also has two routes which are, frankly, boring as doodoo. CSX with its double track up the hill and down again and GWE, about the most boring stretch of UK railway they could have chosen. With the right routes, decent sounds and physics and a bug free experience there is no reason why TSW shouldn't be doing much better than it is. No editors (not even for scenarios) or any publicly released roadmap for same is also unlikely to sustain interest in TSW for those of us who like to meddle under the hood. Not even a Quick Drive feature so the more fanciful can drive a HST over Sandpatch.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to see TSW succeed as there is potential there and some good ideas, but they need to up the ante if they want to broaden the appeal to the home audience.

Enjoy your route Buzz, there will never be anything like it in TSW.

Daniel,
Please stop criticizing others for having an opinion differing from yours. You can make your opinions without name calling or we'll have to end this discussion,

It seems most discussions here and elsewhere on the subject of TSW have died down almost as quickly as they've flared up. Most players have run their trains and finished the tasks that interest them most. After that, there is nothing in TSW to keep the interest piqued.

There is literally nothing we can do but sit on our hands waiting for DTG's next patch. The whole of TSW is closed and locked, we cannot look under the hood to investigate for ourselves, experiment with our findings or apply our collective knowledge. Or even point out errors in coding and offer suggestions, as I am sure there are capable community members just waiting to help out doing this.

Hopefully, all findings have been made into bug reports on the tracker, so DTG have been made aware in a structured, organised manner. It's all up to DTG now.

Buzz: this thread has probably run its course. You can close it if necessary.
