Reportable Issues

Reportable Issues

Unread postby JerryC » Thu Mar 16, 2017 4:40 pm

Other than the obvious problems that have already been complained and hashed about, I just need to verify so that i'm not the only crazy one here.

1. Sound cutout. On the ES44, I went outside to "run" alongside the train, and when I came back in, there was no more sound.
2. The right ditch light on the ES44 does not flash when the horn is blown. It dims, but does not go completely out.
3. Locomotives and rolling stock are faaaaar to shiny. Even straight out of the wash they don't have a mirror-like reflection.
4. The nuclear cab glow has made it's way into this sim too.
5. Passing AI trains do not have their headlight nodes on. Their light glow is shown on the ground, but the nodes are normal.
6. Water flows in the Cumberland River from shore-to-shore instead of downstream like it does on any planet with gravity.

I cannot report anything other than when I start the game it won't get past the Microsoft C ++ screen. Left it like the for 15 minutes, nothing.

I can confirm that the engineer's side ditch light, after a few minutes, no longer flashes but dims almost imperceptibly. It starts out fine, but it always konks out fairly soon.

And

AI services do not have their headlights on for me either and if I hit the 8 key and fly a hundred feet or so in front of my train and look back I can't see the headlights or ditch lights.

The AI headlights work fine for me so far. The only issue I have is reloading a saved scenario results in no sounds.

I keep getting a flashing like lightning flashes. 2 or 3 times in a 5 minute periods. Just odd to me. Not sure if it is crossing a tile border or if there even are tiles.

I just had that happen twice in a 10 minute period, a very quick flash, if you were to blink you would miss it.

I have not seen lightning flashes, but I have twice seen where hitting the "1" key to get back in the cab results in momentary transport to another part of the map before ending up in the cab. Maybe we need to get Scotty to work on that transporter matrix. I would hate for my butt to end up in Cumberland and my head to end up at Sandpatch!

Well actually that shine is real. Straight out of the factory. Have a look at some photos.

Nuclear cab glow?

ive been taking photos for 25 years never seen them shine like that and locomotive cabs looking from the outside in are not that bright it is extremely distracting and has been an issue since railsimulator

Quite a few people are reporting on Steam saying that they are having the MS VC Redist issue on first time startup of TSW. Got mine going after lots of fiddling around. Don't really know what made it work though.

One to mention from last night - smoke particle collision properties. In the loco shed at the beginning of Snow & Ice, when the light engines ran under the shed roof the exhaust smoke was going straight through the solid surface.

Is this the nuclear cab glow you keep talking about?

At some angles I am seeing very faint trails from the graphics like I took a hit of acid.

@bpetit - no, i'm talking about looking from the outside in to the cab and it looks like the sun is shining inside the cab. Totally unrealistic.

@NYWhiskey - a little too much whiskey, perhaps?

It also goes through road bridges and it rains in the tunnels. Have not tried snow yet.

I reported this 'Ghost Train'...

I was on the line and a train approached from the opposite direction and ran right through my train.
