For Those Interested: March 15th DTG TSW Livestream

Unread postby pschlik » Tue Mar 14, 2017 6:40 pm

Official TSW prerelease live stream starts at 6PM UK time tomorrow, March 15. If you are on the verge of giving TSW a chance, why not check out the stream to get an idea of what TSW is actually like? Maybe find new things to complain about and find things that don't need to be complained about anymore (just don't be so toxic on the stream itself). And if you aren't giving it a chance...I don't know why you are reading this here. Anyway, it will be quite nice to actually get a look at something other than the SD40-2, Bethgons, and Autoracks in action. The beta only did so much, and only did so well. Hopefully this stream will show off some of those nice changes DTG has brought up, and others they did not mention. https://www.twitch.tv/dovetailgames

The only live stream I care about is TSW arriving on my computer, thank you very much.

A live stream with all the twits on Twitch, and then listening to their twitterings on Twitter, sounds like a fun-packed hour, or, so, whilst eating my tea, tonight........ !*roll-laugh*!

It's looking REALLY good. Freight car sounds are excellent (a la Krellnut). Timetable mode looks fun as well. Roll on tomorrow!

As much as the chat was toxic as ever, a lot of nice stuff was revealed, I especially like what they did with the AC4400CW MFDs, that is wayyy beyond "typical DTG quality" yet people are still gonna call TSW "typical DTG quality." Whatever, I'm gonna like this, even if it doesn't have this or that, it does its job of simulating pretty darn good! Oh, and Matt Peddlesden will be streaming EVEN MORE TSW EDIT: pushed back to 9PM UK time at https://www.twitch.tv/mattpeddlesden

The radiators on the AC44 is really bugging me, but otherwise I like what DTG has accomplished!

Twitch chat, which is always chaos on large streams anyway, so it was no surprise that firestarters were constantly complaining, using the typical trigger phrases like "Trainz/Run 8 is better" probably exclusively to cause trouble, and not because they were being honest (some people did have honest and valid complaints, though!). Luckily, the chat went ignored by the DTG peeps.

Fair enough, this stream was no exception by any means.

Yup, I did not stay long, just popped in and had a look.

Here is the TSW manual for your perusal: http://store.steampowered.com/manual/530070/manuals/Operator_Manual_EN.pdf

It should answer some of your questions regarding DPU (or rather invisibly manned helpers) of the GP and SD units. No word on DPU operation with the AC4400's it seems.

I suppose there are compulsory driving lessons like in the beta to familiarise yourself with coupling/uncoupling and other features of operation.
