Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul Developer Diary 2

Not sure if this is best suited in this forum or the TS17 forum, but DTG released a second diary video showing further development of TSW: CSX Heavy Haul: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVmo281NUg8&feature=youtu.be

SimuGraph looks like a really clever idea, I can see a lot of good things happening with this.
I'm impressed that they are bothering to simulate everything down to the finest detail-no other sim can say it keeps track of the torque on traction motors individually. The whole module system goes into tons of detail for sure. Just shows how much there is in a locomotive that could end up breaking and bring the whole thing to a stop.

Probably the best part is for modding: some component of a locomotive you want doesn't exist yet? Just add it in! Super flexible, and huge potential to be very realistic, or simple if you need it to be. I see myself doing some really cool things that can't be(easily) done in TS17 thanks to the SimuGraph system.

Now that DTG is putting in legit physics, I wonder what Mike's going to do. !**conf**!

I think he'll probably make locomotives.

Would love to see how the FEF-3 would look in TSW. !*drool*!

Really impressive, thank you DTG! Well, I guess the grumpy club corner "it needs better physics" guys are finally gonna get their simulator. Im really impressed with DTG for taking the simulator to such an "advanced" level. The graphics alone are just amazing... Looking forward to the Beta. Still no word on Virtual Reality support though.. !**conf**!

If DTG are reading this, then I have both CV1 and the Vive screaming to be used in your upcoming simulator. *!twisted!*

Honestly, it looks like TSW will really be a step forward from TS2017 in both graphics and physics. Will have to wait and see.

Read an interesting answer in the TSW Developer Diaries regarding support for steam locomotives - There is still a great deal of work ahead of us to bring steam engines to Train Sim World. This includes work on the particles system to generate smoke and steam effects. I’ll have more information when we get to this at some point in the future.

If the particle system to generate smoke and steam effects is not ready, how is diesel exhaust going to be supported? Sounds like they have a great deal of work ahead of them to deliver a minimally viable product.
