TSW anyone?

Honestly would rather see the controls for reverser, throttle and such all be like Run 8s momentary key press instead of a "slide" action. That gives you more precise control over your throttle commands and doesn't force you to need the visual feedback of what notch you've set or what direction you've chosen.

Plus it gives you the control ability to differentiate a throttle swipe from throttle modulation.

Though I did like how the brake controller handled. Minus the CCB-II having a freakin Spring action for actuation when they even went through the trouble of modeling the thumb buttons that CSX has for actuating. As the 45th would say.. WRONG.

Hello, all. Downloaded and started up just fine. I began by using my Alienware laptop which is the primary machine I use for most everything. You can read the specs in my sig line. The only settings I really felt I had to change were the default screen resolution of 2715 x 1527 (?) and Windowed Full Screen. I changed to 1920 x 1080 and Full Screen. I kept all the other defaults. I'm getting 20FPS +/- 3FPS as an average. I don't consider that too bad for the tutorials I've been using. I definitely enjoy the first-person aspect and the detail they (DTG) have put into the activities I've done so far. Coal loading is a neat process, at least with the AC4400CW in Slow Speed mode. I've seen video of the continuous coal loading process and this is a good simulation, IMnsHO.
One thing I noticed when transitioning to my gaming desktop (specs also below) was the two installations did not sync. I investigated the file structure to see if it was going to be easy to bring over a save file of some sort. I found a series of .sav files in the <installation drive>:\My Documents\my games\TS2Prototype\Saved\SaveGames folder. Transferring the three files in this folder syncs your profile between machines. I'm using OneDrive as the transfer medium.
Without making any changes to the default settings on the desktop I'm getting between 20-30 FPS. I need to see if the display is set to that same figure with Windowed Full Screen as default. I should be able to achieve 30FPS with a few tweaks. As it's an AMD/nVidia combo I'm not sure if that's not a factor in the lower performance of the desktop. Also going to try setting the Titan as the PhysX processor. I've read a few posts of folks achieving 50-60 FPS with their systems and I hope I can get there someday.
Overall it's a keeper. !!*ok*!!
Best, !*cheers*!

I love the weather effects. Weather it is rain or snow. (pun intended)

The snow after a bit of piling up makes a frosted effect. It looks so so nice.

I think I am going to chill out posting some of these for now.

I went to check the physX setting in the NVIDIA control panel. It was set to auto-select with the NVIDIA card selected.

Why so negative? Yes, there are issues, but this not the end but a start. Give it some time. I played now 6 hours on a fairly underpowered PC, but it is fun ... all the dev tools wil come, certainly and additional DLC will come. The lack of it is no reason to say it failed. DTG did a huge job.

Got a five year old I7-960 Oced to 4.0. Intergrated into a well balanced system the game is running smooth as silk. I got as low as 18FPS in the yard with trains but it was still smooth, high 30s. All on high and Ultra.

How do you get the sounds to be muffled when you are in the cab? I've tried to configure my audio settings but the sounds on the interior and exterior always are the same. !*don-know!*

It's configured by default. Does it do it all the time? I've had it happen to me, but a restart of the scenario would fix it.

Nope, they've never worked, even after restarting.

People are bitching because they are having disappointing results. Not everyone is a computer genius like you. Let's try to help out instead of making fun of people OK?

I'm NOT making fun of people and I don't claim to be a computer genius.

If people really want help they have to be more specific than just bitching, but like you said, this isn't a gaming forum. !*don-know!*

I'm keeping TSW since it's early days and things will get better. BUT, with that said:

Something looks broken on high end machines & im seeing bugs from the beta that were never fixed.

1. I have an i5 6600k with a GeForce 1080gtx. Running 1080p with default graphic settings I get around 30 FPS in Cumberland yard tops. Dips down to 20s at times. It doesn't improve if I lower graphic settings to medium. Wonder if this is CPU limited or what's going on. Something's gotta be wrong given the FPS others are reporting on slower hardware.

2. Crashes constantly to desktop without error. Had to try 5 times just to finish tutorial. Can't finish any scenario without a crash to desktop. Know it isn't a hardware or Windows problem since everything else (including TS2017) runs great.

3. Game randomly forgets dtg live login, headlight issues others have mentioned, Other little things that were reported months ago in public beta and apparently not fixed in the interim.

I've reported these to the bug tracker so hopefully will see some resolutions eventually. For the moment I'm shelving TSW since can't get through the shortest run without crashing.

I'm running a i5 4690k (3.5ghz to 3.9ghz) with a EVGA GTX 960 SSC.
Loaded up Cumberland Switchback. Just walked around a bit, no running or anything.

Better GPU should mean better performance. **!!bang!!**

Edit: Shadows seem to be the biggest eater of my FPS.
